A B O U T

Hokkaido was developed in the latter half of the 19th century by the Japanese government and American engineers. Much of that history remains in this area, including Sapporo, which has been the center of Hokkaido since those days, and Otaru, where canals and gas lamps remain from bygone days. There is also an abundance of volcanoes, lakes and facilities where you can experience Ainu culture.

Eastern Hokkaido is full of natural beauty that has remained untouched since the dawn of time. Between the World Heritage Site of Shiretoko Peninsula, the winter drift ice on the Sea of Okhotsk and Japan’s largest wetland in Kushiro, you’ll want to take plenty of time to explore Eastern Hokkaido’s natural delights.

“Snow White Hokkaido” takes us to the best winter locations in Japan – Eastern Hokkaido. You can enjoy skating and eating in -20 degree iced-village at Tomamu Resort, riding onto icebreakers at Abashiri, watching lots of wild crane expanse on snow, and watching the snow march of the chubby penguins at Asahiyama Zoo. Though the air maybe cold, you will be filled with warmth and smiles throughout this tour. Experience the winter escape in eastern Hokkaido, and you’ll never forget the romantic memories!
